after some years spent in an insurance company (it’s like a holy civil servant status for German standards) I decided to leave all behind, move to Spain, dance flamenco, drink sangria, celebrate life until I drop and return after one summer season.
4th of May, 2000
I left to Greece to reach Spain only several seasons later, stopped drinking many years ago and learned flamenco years after yoga came into my life. summers passed, I never saw winter again…
living and travelling over 40 countries, I had hundreds of ‘homes’.
I stopped checking sights. MONUMENTS ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO MOMENTS.
facebook didn’t exist and if, I’d have some 1000 more friends.
there were island fires, earthquakes, floods, strikes, landslides, shark attacks, and tsunamis.
there were robberies, accidents, illnesses.
there were whale sharks, snakes and giant tortoises.
there were parties, immersions, festivals, trainings, beach days, mountain hikes, dives under water and in the sky.
there was ouzo, mint tea and ayran, smoothies and coconuts.
there were luxury villas, hammocks, dorms and boats.
I had it all, I lost it all.
I never reached the land of milk and honey…
particularly since I became vegan.
VEGAN! me? if I knew 15 years ago…
you know… I left a bit of my heart at each place.
I charged my heart through everyone I met.
and while the sun was setting behind my rice paddies one night in Bali, the moon rising on the other side, I thought:
I AM ON A MYSTERIOUS JOURNEY ON THIS MIRACULOUS, BLESSED EARTH.
IT IS FULL OF SURPRISES, DELIGHTS, MYSTERIES AND MIRACLES.
and only one point of my plan really worked out…
I did celebrate life. and I still do.
whatever…
celebrate life.
celebrate yourself.
