What is ‘Yoni’? Suddenly all of your favorite spiritual leaders are starting to use this word and you want more than anything to get on board with the lingo!

But how do we use it and what, exactly, does ‘Yoni’ mean?

What does Yoni mean?

Yoni is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘Sacred Place’ (योनि – Yoni in Hindi). In Eastern cultures and Taoist tradition, it’s often used when referring to both the vagina and the womb. It’s the seat of generative power and is considered the ‘Source of All’.

The Yoni definition taken from Oxford dictionaries is this:

“The vulva, especially as a symbol of divine procreative energy conventionally represented by a circular stone” – definition of ‘Yoni’.

A circular stone? That sounds a little bit like our Yoni Eggs.

It’s true that one of the best ways to connect to your Yoni is through self-exploration and pleasure. And that one of the best ways to practice this is with your Yoni Egg! If you’re new to the world of Yoni Eggs and want to get started you can find out everything you need to know here (how to use Yoni Eggs). You can also take advantage of my personal matching service – which is unique in the world of Yoni Crystals – to save you both time and money, as well as ensure that you’re paired with the perfect stone for your Yoni and your needs. My motivation to set it up in this way is that loooong time ago, women with special skills would teach the novitiates the special Yoni Egg Secrets aka Yoni Egg Exercises that were passed on only from woman to woman.

The definition of a Yoni certainly suggests something far deeper than the anatomy of our pleasure and reproductive center, and this is something worth considering. Your Yoni is a central point of your spirituality and is solely responsible for your ability to bring new life and new souls into this world. Wow, how mighty this core of feminine essence is.
So much power in such a small part of your body!

And that’s probably what’s brought you here. A desire to feel a deeper need to connect to yourself, your spirituality, and the divine essence of your feminine energy. A healthy relationship with your Yoni starts by getting to know yourself intimately.

What is a Yoni stone?

what does yoni mean. yoni stonesA Yoni stone is another phrase for a Yoni Egg. Some call it Yoni Crystal, Yoni Gems, Womb Stone or to my amusement, Violeta Egg. It’s an egg-shaped object that can be placed in the vagina as a way of connecting with your Yoni. But that’s not all! Read here for 7 different ways that you can use your Yoni Egg. This is a great place to start if you’re still not ready to insert your Yoni Egg, it’s also a wonderful way to add more elements to the time that you spend with your precious Yoni Egg.

A Yoni Egg is the only external tool you need to get started on your exploration into the world of Yoni. There’s, for now, no need for Yoni herbs or Yoni Steaming, aka Vaginal Steaming, and if you’re wondering ‘what are Yoni Pearls’ then here’s my best advice. Stick to Yoni Eggs made from precious gemstones for the most rewarding Yoni experience out there. Your introduction to your Yoni starts here.

What is Yoni Tantra?

definition of yoni

Yoni Tantra actually doesn’t exist. What is often referred to is a Yoni Massage with a tantric approach. Generally speaking, a tantric massage does not have to involve genitals, but in our times it pretty much took over being the definition of it. Tantra Massage could be considered a sexual practice that involves massaging the vulva and is something that can be practiced with a partner or alone. It’s a deep and connecting experience that can lead to multiple orgasms, prolonged orgasms, orgasms in general and deep feelings of being loved and cherished. The pleasure on all levels is one of the effects of a Tantric Yoni Massage.

Start by feeling the energetic waves running through your body. Continue by warming up your body through touch. Then move on to experimenting with different ways to activate your senses without stimulating the clitoris. Tantric massage, after all, excludes highly sensitive clitoral stimulation.

Remember, the goal is to experience multiple waves of orgasms so back off and connect to your heart space and other parts of your body when you feel ready to explode. In my course The Art of Touch I support you in various ways of connecting with your physical and energetic body.

A Yoni steam is an age-old practice said to cleanse and purify your Yoni – both your vagina and uterus. It can also be an effective way to relieve menstrual cramps and discomfort. While living in Indonesia I enjoyed it very often and felt through this ritual so nourished from within.

You’ll find a lot of information on this online. But really… The safest way to perform a Yoni steam is to work with an experienced professional for advice and guidance. Connect with my fabulous colleague Hanna Krohn in Germany if you are looking for some guidance about Yoni Steaming. She has completed her training with Keli Garza from Steamy Chick and is Germany’s expert when it comes to Vaginal Steaming and can suggest to you the best way forward whatever your condition.
